Apply the parking brake and chock the rear wheels.
Loosen the front wheel nuts.
Raise the front of the car and place it on stands.
Remove the front wheel.
Remove the tie rod end and remove the lock nut.

Cut or loosen and remove the clamps securing the protective boot to the steering rod and steering gear (pic. 13.12).
Remove the protective cover by sliding it along the steering rod.
Before installing a new boot, wrap the threaded part of the steering rod with adhesive tape to prevent damage to the boot.
Sliding on the steering rod, install a new protective cover and secure it with clamps.
Remove the adhesive tape and screw the tie rod end onto the tie rod.
Insert the tie rod end ball joint trunnion into the steering knuckle and secure it with the nut and pin.
Install the wheel, tighten the nuts, lower the vehicle and tighten the wheel nuts.
Check and, if necessary, adjust the wheel alignment.
