Note: there are two ways (A and B) oil seal replacements described below.
A. If the camshaft oil seal holder is removed:
A) Using a screwdriver and hammer, knock out the oil seal with light blows.
b) Using an appropriately sized pipe and hammer, lightly tap the new oil seal until its face is overlapped by the lip of the oil seal holder.
V) Apply grease to the sealing lip of the gland.
B. If the camshaft oil seal holder is installed on the cylinder head:
A) Using a knife, cut off the lip of the seal.
b) Using a screwdriver as a lever, remove the oil seal.
Attention: Care must be taken not to damage the camshaft. Wrap the tip of the screwdriver with tape.
V) Apply grease to the sealing lip of the new oil seal.
G) Using an appropriately sized pipe and hammer, lightly tap the gland until its working surface is overlapped by the edge of the gland holder.
