1. The parking brake is applied and released by means of a control lever located between the front seats. Built into the parking brake mechanisms, the adjusters automatically compensate for the wear of the brake shoes. However, the gradual stretching of the drive cable over time will result in the need for additional adjustments. Full cocking of the parking brake on models is performed by pulling the control handle 6-8 clicks of the ratchet.
2. Release the parking brake lever.
3. Remove the center console (see chapter Body).
4. Turning the locknut (refer to accompanying illustration) adjust the drive cable tension until the parking brake is fully engaged when the lever is pulled out the required number of ratchet clicks.
5. Reinstall the center console (see chapter Body).
