Carburetor adjustment

The carburetor is checked and adjusted at the factory. The carburetor is not subject to subsequent adjustment. Increased fuel consumption and insufficient engine power are usually not the result of incorrect carburetor adjustment, but, for example, the driving style and operating conditions of the vehicle. Therefore, the adjustment of the carburetor, as a rule, comes down to adjusting the idle speed and the concentration of carbon monoxide (SO). Proper idle adjustment ensures good engine response up to the mid-range engine speed range.

Note: The exhaust gas adjustment screw is covered by a protective cap that can be removed with pliers or a screwdriver.

Sometimes this can be done differently by screwing a self-tapping screw with a diameter of 2 mm into the cap and then pulling out the self-tapping screw along with the cap. The protective cap is destroyed. After adjustment, the adjusting screw must be closed with a new cap (should be included in the spare parts kit). If the carburetor has an adjusting screw with a protective head, then a special key TOYOTA ET Nr. is required to adjust the composition of the exhaust gases. SST 09243-00020.
