A) Install the bearing on the front propeller shaft as shown in the illustration.
b) Install the plate washer on the front propeller shaft.
V) Align the alignment marks on the rear flange and front propeller shaft, and install the flange.
G) Install the front flange in a vise, install the bearing in place, securing it with a new nut and washer.
- Tightening torque - 185 Nm
d) Loosen the nut.
e) Tighten the nut again.
- Tightening torque - 70 Nm
and) Using a hammer and chisel, lock the nut.
2. Install the coupler.
A) Align the alignment marks and connect the front and rear driveshafts.
b) Press the coupler by first installing the 3 plate washers and tightening the 6 fastening bolts.
Caution: Tighten the bolts evenly so as not to damage the flange.
V) Remove 6 bolts and 3 washers and separate the propshaft rear flange from the coupler.
3. Check the coupler for damage.
4. Connect the front and rear driveshafts, install 3 plate washers, and using a socket wrench, pre-tighten the 6 mounting bolts.
Caution: To avoid damage to the coupling seal, place a rag in the location indicated by the arrows in the figure.
