Replacing the cardan shaft seal (A540N)

1. Drain the oil from the transfer case.

2. Remove cardan shaft.

3. Using a puller, remove the cardan shaft seal.



4. Install the cardan shaft seal.

A) Lubricate the seal lip with grease.

b) Using a mandrel, install a new oil seal.



5. Install the cardan shaft.

6. Fill transfer case with oil.
