Preparation for disassembly of the cylinder block

1. Remove flywheel or torque converter drive plate (see section "Cylinder block" chapters "Gasoline engines 4A-FE, 5A-FE, 7A-FE").

2. Place the engine on a stand for disassembly.

3. Remove the timing belt and pulleys (see section "timing belt").

4. Remove the cylinder head, (see section "cylinder head").

5. Remove the injection pump. (see chapter "Fuel system of diesel engine 2C").

6. Remove the coolant pump (see chapter "Cooling system").

7. Remove the alternator assembly and alternator drive belt tension adjusting bracket.

8. Remove the oil pan and oil pump (see chapter "Smears system").

9. Turn away bolts, disconnect tubes and hoses and remove an arm of the oil filter and the filter.
