All vehicles described in these repair instructions have a 12 V power supply system. The negative terminal of the battery is connected to ground. The battery is located in the engine compartment. The starter is designed to start the engine. The starter has either a direct drive or a reduction gear, which provides the same torque without increasing the size of the starter. The starter switch is part of the ignition switch and, when turned on, turns on the traction relay installed in the starter. The alternator, which has different power depending on the engine type, is driven from the crankshaft through a V-belt drive. The regulator built into the generator serves to regulate the charge current, and the charge indicator lamp installed on the dashboard indicates the normal functioning of the electrical equipment in the battery charging circuit. The built-in regulator does not require adjustments.
