Inlet and outlet valves with a larger valve face are used to improve the gas flow at the inlet and outlet. Reduced diameter valve stems are used to reduce inlet and outlet flow resistance and to reduce valve weight. Along with increased valve lift, valve lifters without shims are used to provide a larger cam contact surface. The clearances in the valve mechanism are adjusted by selecting and replacing the corresponding valve lifters.
Note. There are 35 tappet sizes available in 0.020mm increments, from 5.060 to 5.740.
