Engine damage caused by using the wrong fuel is not covered by your new Toyota vehicle warranty.
Use only unleaded gasoline.
To help avoid confusion at the gas station, your vehicle has a smaller fuel filler neck. The special nozzle that fits on pumps with unleaded fuel will fit it, but the large standard nozzle on pumps with leaded gasoline will not.
1AZ-FE and 2AZ-FE Engines - Use premium unleaded gasoline with a minimum research octane rating of 95.
1MZ-FE Engine - Use gasoline with an octane rating of at least 91. For better vehicle performance, we recommend using premium unleaded gasoline with a research octane rating of at least 95.
The use of fuel with an octane rating lower than specified will result in permanent heavy detonation. Ultimately, this will damage the engine.
If you experience heavy knocking even when using the recommended fuel, or if you hear persistent knocking while maintaining a constant speed on level roads, consult your Toyota dealer.
However, sometimes you may notice slight knocking for a short time when accelerating or driving uphill. This is normal and should not be cause for concern.
Note. The fuel tank capacity of the Toyota Camry is 70 liters.
Note. To exclude accidental filling of the fuel tank with leaded gasoline, the tank neck is made with a narrowing, which does not allow inserting a branch pipe of the dispensing valve into it, which has a larger diameter on dispensers with leaded gasoline.
Note. The use of methanol as a motor fuel is prohibited.
Note. Toyota vehicles must not be operated on gasoline containing methanol (wood alcohol). This will lead to a deterioration in the performance of the vehicle and damage to parts of the fuel supply system.
Note. The manufacturer's warranty does not cover any damage to the fuel supply system and deterioration in engine performance that results from the use of methanol or fuel containing methanol.
