Camshaft rotation sensor — check and replace

On 4-cylinder engines, the sensor is mounted at the rear of the cylinder head, on V6 engines, at the front of the cylinder head.

Examination

1. Disconnect the wiring connector and check the resistance of the sensor (in the figure on the left is a 4-cylinder engine, on the right is a 6-cylinder). The resistance must correspond to that specified in the technical data (see subsection 7.2.2.). On 4-cylinder engines, the sensor must be removed for verification.

Replacement

1. Switch off the ignition.



2. Disconnect the connector, unscrew the bolts and remove the sensor.
