On V6 engines, turn the ignition key to the Off position, disconnect the connectors from the coils and check the resistance of the coil primary circuits.
Attention! This procedure is not provided for 4-cylinder engines.
Check the resistance of the secondary circuits of the coils. To do this, turn the ignition key to the Off position, mark and disconnect high-voltage wires from the coils (4 cylinder engine).
On V6 engines, the coil must be removed. If the resistance is out of specification, replace the ignition coil.
Replacement
1. Disconnect the battery from the ground.
4-cylinder engines
2. Remove the throttle body (see subsection 6.14.).
3. Label and disconnect the connector and high voltage wires from the coil.
4. Turn away bolts (arrows) and remove the coil with bracket.
5. Turn away bolts and remove the coil from an arm.
6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
