Rear shaft
2. Mark the mutual position of the flanges of the cardan shaft and the drive gear of the gearbox.
3. While holding the bolts, remove the four nuts securing the rear shaft flange.
4. Disconnect the propeller shaft from the rear flange. Remove the shaft from the transmission or transfer case, or unscrew the bolts securing the hinge to the transfer case flange.
5. On rear-wheel drive vehicles, plug the hole in the gearbox.
6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Align the marks made during disassembly and tighten the nuts to the specified torque.
Front shaft
7. Remove the front shaft guard.
8. Mark the mutual position of the flanges of the gearbox, transfer case and cardan joints.
9. While holding the bolts, unscrew the shaft mounting nuts and remove the shaft.
10.Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Align the marks made during disassembly and tighten the nuts to the specified torque. First, secure the shaft to the front reduction gear by tightening the nuts by hand, and then to the transfer case. Tighten bolts and nuts to specified torque.
