1. Remove the toothed belt and crankshaft drive sprocket.
2. Determine the sealing depth of the gland, then cut the lip of the gland (1 - notched part) and carefully remove the oil seal from the oil pump housing by prying it with a screwdriver wrapped with tape.
3. Clean the oil seal bore and lightly coat the outside and lip of the new oil seal with engine oil.
4. Carefully, without distortion, press the new oil seal into place using a mandrel with a diameter slightly smaller than the diameter of the oil seal. The pressing depth is determined by the applied mark. After installation, make sure that the lips of the gland are not bent.
5. Install the rest of the parts in reverse order. On 3.4L engines, take care not to damage the crankshaft rotation sensor insert on the drive sprocket.
